UTM, Power Washing & Painting via Rope Access

In August, we were engaged by a well-established shipyard in Batam, Indonesia, to work on a flare tower project on an FPSO vessel. The scope of work involved Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), specifically Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement, power washing at 3000 psi, and applying eight layers of paint across an area of nearly 2000 square meters.

With the flare tower standing over 60 meters tall, we swiftly assembled a team of rope access technicians specialized in both painting and NDT. The project spanned almost two months, during which the client requested that the Indonesian flag be raised on the flare tower on August 17th to celebrate Indonesia’s Independence Day.
